The Amazonite belongs to the large group of the potash feldspars. With its often intensive light blue, greenish to strong turquoise colouring, Amazonite is a very popular gemstone.


Places where the Amazonite was found include Brazil and Russia. Alexander von Humboldt called this feldspar representative at that time "stone of Amazonia".
